I’ve struggled with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and ADHD for as long as I can remember. I am going to tell my story regarding substance abuse.

It started with Vyvanse. My parents were desperate to cure my ADHD because it was causing a lot of problems like worsening my depression/anxiety, etc. At first, I took it as prescribed. Until one day I decided to take a few extra. From that point on, I had to be high 24/7 on at least something. Moved to benzos like Xanax, Klonopin, as well as light opiates such as Vicodin and Oxy, seeking a better high than my Vyvanse could produce. Long story short, I graduated from prescription medications after about four straight years (started at 12) and switched up to heroin and cocaine. At 16, I dropped my cocaine habit. Why? Too pricy. $100/gram? Hell no could I afford that at the time. However, I still really enjoyed that stimmy high. So, I moved to Focalin. Real heroin was getting hard to find at this time in Ohio, so I kicked that and jumped to Fentanyl. After countless hospitalized AND un-hospitalized ODs, I finally kicked my Fentanyl habit after about three years and I’m six months sober to this day.
